Planning of the Enersense operation was started in autumn 2019. In January 2020, the holding company MBÅ Invest Oy was established by Active Owners, which was also joined by the executive management of Enersense. MBÅ Invest bought 49.5% of Enersense shares in February 2020 and initiated a new strategic direction in the company towards the implementer of emission-free energy solutions. Markku Kankaala was elected chairman of the Board.
In the summer of 2020, Enersense bought the Empower company, which started a tremendous increase in turnover and profit. In the summer of 2021, the company was listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki main list. Kankaala left the Board in August 2021. Enersense’s market value grew by 8M€ => 80M€ under the direction of Active Owners. Enersense was the best value gainer of the stock exchange year 2020.
