The approach of Active Owners

In spring 2021, Active Owners Jukka Juola, Tuomas Hirvonen and Markku Kankaala acted as owners in Kalajoki’s Andament Group Oy, which owned the Skarta Finland Oy group. In July 2021, Active Owners carried out an operation in which the Skarta Finland group was listed on the Helsinki First North marketplace using the “reverse takeover” method. Skarta Group Oyj was born, and Andament Oy became the main owner. In the same context, several other Active Owners were invited to participate in the operation. They invested around €8 million in connection with the arrangement. The family office Haapalandia Invest Oy (Martti Haapala) was one of the largest participants. Today, the company is known as NYAB Group Oyj.

NYAB’s valuation at the start of the listing in spring 2021 was around €50 million. At the end of 2021, NYAB’s market value was already €285 million. The company was the seventh best value gainer of the stock exchange year 2021.

NYAB already has decades of experience in demanding infrastructure and special construction. The company is one of the leading builders of wind farms in Finland, as it has already been involved in the construction of more than 100 wind farms since 2012. The goal is to further expand operations in the value chain of wind power, solar energy and hydrogen solutions towards overall clean energy projects.

The company has more than 180 employees in Finland and northern Sweden in the Norrbotten region. The share is listed on the Helsinki Nasdaq First North list.
